I am going to start running again...

Yesterday I went on a hike at Torrey Pines State Preserve... It's a place that I love since it's right along the ocean, and a place that I hold some hatred for, since I ran the La Jolla Half Marathon the last two years, and halfway through the race, they decide to have us run a rather steep uphill. For two miles straight. But at least I get a medal for it each year?

Anyway; so I was hiking Torrey Pines, and it was such a gorgeous day. We got there around 5:45, so the hot day was cooling off, there was a nice breeze from the beach, and the sun was on its way down. Hike along the beach for a while, then up through a bunch of random little trails to the top of the hill. The whole time we're walking along these trails, there are a ton of people running past us. And I start to realize, that I am extremely jealous (pause in the hiking and jealous to be amazed by this awesome, foggy sunset; confession: it's Instagram-ed). 
Now, I have been very lazy recently when it comes to running, so the fact that I was watching all of these people go past me and feel something like jealousy, that's a very good sign. And so, because I know how much more likely I am to follow something that I write down than something that I just say, I am putting this out there: I am going to start running 3 days per week again, and 4 if I have the time on an extra day. There, I said it. I would like to start with tomorrow morning, before I go to work at the restaurant. Saturdays used to be my long run morning, back when I was training for the Carlsbad Marathon earlier this year. You know what, that's more motivation right there! I can't believe that in the same year, I have gone from being able to complete a marathon, to being pathetically slow when it comes to running 4 miles (the last time I ran, a little over a week ago).
